David Beckham to quit Real and head for L.A.

MADRID (Reuters) - Former England captain David Beckham will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and sign a five-year deal for MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy, he told Reuters on Thursday.

"This week Real Madrid asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer to extend my contract for a further two seasons," Beckham told Reuters.


"After discussing several options with my family and my advisors to either stay here in Madrid or join other major British and European teams I have decided to join LA Galaxy and play in the MLS from August this year.

"I would like to thank supporters and the people of Madrid who have made my family and I so welcome in my time here making this an extremely difficult decision to make.

"I have enjoyed my time here enormously and I am extremely grateful to the club for giving me an opportunity to play for such a great team and their amazing fans."

The 31-year-old, who joined Real from Manchester United in June 2003, is the most famous player to sign up for Major League Soccer since it began in 1996.

He is also the biggest name player to move to club soccer in the U.S. since the likes of Pele, Franz Beckenbauer and Johan Cruyff played in the long-defunct North American Soccer League (NASL) in the 1970s and early eight's

His deal is reported to be one of the biggest in global sport with Beckham set to earn more than $250 million over the duration of his contract.

The news ends months of speculation about the future of the midfielder whose contract with Real expires at the end of the season.

Having been first choice in the Real Madrid starting lineup since he moved to Spain, Beckham lost his place following the arrival of Italian coach Fabio Capello.

He has only started five of Real's 16 league games this season and was known to be frustrated with his lack of opportunities in the first team.

The former Manchester United player said he was now inspired by the challenge of cracking the American soccer market.

"I am proud to have played for two of the biggest clubs in football and I look forward to the new challenge of growing the world's most popular game in a country that is as passionate about its sport as my own.

But he insisted he would be giving his all for Real Madrid until the end of the season to try and win the major trophy that has eluded him since he joined the club in 2003.

"For the rest of this season I will continue to give 100 percent to my coach, team mates and fans and I believe Fabio Capello will bring this club and its supporters the success they truly deserve."

just back to florida from NYC

Hey Floridian and NYiers friends,
AHHHHHhhh, I arrived Florida from NYC. I had a terrible flight from NYC (Laguardia) to Jacksonville, Florida. Do you know why? I had a two times delays: 1) I had to tranfere from Delta to American Airplane for small plane. it was supposed to leave at 245pm. I hopped in the small airplane. I sat in the airplane for two hours and I wonderd, why do we sat in the airplane and wait to get off the NYC? so I realized that our plane was Techical Problem, so I had to hop out of the airplane... and get into the bus at airport station, so I have to walk to airplane station, and wait for next other airplane! I realized that I will arrive to Jacksonville, Fl at 7pm. GGGRrrr but Least, I am okay and an important to be safely trip! smile

HAPPY CHRISTMAS DAY IN SINGAPORE on Dec 25,2006!!!! I MISS Y'ALL IN SINGAPORE I just finished surfing at St.Augustine Pier. I caught 24 times of the waves from 10 30am to 1230pm. I was alittle hurry to go to work at 1pm for GAP...

Sleep head!

I got back from Maya s place around 1 45am. Because Maya wanted to talk me about the problem at bar for North East Deaf Professional Happy Hour, so I went to sleep at 3am. I got only one hour sleep... I woke up at 4 20am. My mind says" GGRRRRRR, I wish, I would sleep more!!" Oh, well, I drove to GAP at 4:55am in the morning. I saw five new co workers. I know few new workers, so I came to work at 503am. I started to work from 5am to 9am in the morning, It was quite faster time cuz i was working faster and dont look the time... HHHhheheh

surfed at Pier again on Dec 15th!

ME surfing!!!!!

I went to surf at the St.Auggie Pier again for getting warmer air, but the Water was pretty colder 64F/17C. The Pier had a little left over the foggy! i surfed there for two hours and caught 18 waves!!!! I was glad that I was doing surfing well! I got a lot of floater and cutback at the waves!! HOorrrraAAy!

Real Foggy in St.Augustine,Florida

12/14/2006: I got up from bed at 11am. I checked the surf report said "you cannot see the waves unless you are in the water, you may be see the waves alittle." my mind said, "huh?!" " Let's me to see this pier myself", so I drove to 312 brige and I was surpised that I can see foggy around the bright and kept drive thought the foggy brige. I cannot see the river and view around the downtown, so kept on drive, drive, and toward to beach. I stopped at pier. I was surpised i cannot see the waves. My mind said "HOLY SMOKEY, I HAVE NOT SEEN LIKE THIS FOR 15 YEARS!" my eyes was pretty wide open! Oh, well! I decided to surf there and wait for Matt Gater to meet me at Pier. When I saw matt and explained him what happen! Matt said," I had seen like this at North Carolina. (he lived there for long time)

The waves size was 2 to 5 feet with mushy and glassy!

I have had seen Gabe Kling for long time!!!

He and I have had seen each other at Pier or blowhole for long time. He is good person and nice smile. He dont really talk to me at his voice very often due he knows that he will do smile and quiet. He also know that he has been travelling over the world that he has been knowledge the language barrier and living standard! His best friend named Jody Davis, who has a good gesture Sign Language, and more talking each other now than before. Two weeks ago, Jody and I chatted about surfboard, waves and few events at the pier. I asked him, if I can see his surfboard fins. he says, You can have it for this! i was sort of surpised! He said" dont pay me" if you gave me a money, I will mad at you!, he teased!" I told him, i will given him a treat someday! he said" dont worry"
