Shoppers walk in front for on Black Friday
Shoppers walk in front of a tour bus with an Express clothing store ad on the side Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 in Chicago. ’1,000 foreigners invested S$1.5 billion to be S’pore PRs’
I am really surpised to hear this.
Call it the price to pay for wanting to live in Singapore.
Trade and Industry Minister Lim Hng Kiang has revealed that some 1,000 foreign investors have invested over $1.5 billion under the Global Investor Programme (GIP) to become permanent residents of the city-state.
These investors come mostly from North-East Asia and South-East Asia and they have either poured money into an approved investment fund or directly in a business in Singapore.
Close to 100 have invested directly in businesses ranging from engineering, R&D, shipping, asset management and services and trading, thereby creating some 1,500 jobs.
Minister Lim was replying to a question from West Coast GRC MP Ho Geok Choo in Parliament on Monday.
The GIP is aimed at attracting wealthy businessmen to set up business or invest in Singapore and to settle on the island. Mr Lim said from Jan 1, a minimum investment of $2.5 million is required to qualify for the GIP.

Jurong Bird (awesome place)
Kazu's favourite kid spaghetti with sausages.Yummy...
Karen's fish burger...Nice! potatoes are also nice.
Kenichi's beef burger-not bad...Overally,the food at Bongo restaurant is nice despite of expensive prices. We spent food about $36 only exclude drinks! After lunch,we went home happily though tired esp.Kazu.
We were tired and took a rest for a while before going back for lunch.
Kazu is born in year of Rooster...
Excuse me,I did not know what kind of bird but it suddenly appear in front of us.It was quite beautiful and harmless but I think it's quite vain and smart. It walked and stopped,it knows how to pose nicely in front of us when I took photo :)
Thank God for the good weather that we could be able to bring Kazu out the next morning (6 June,Sunday).Thankfully,Kenichi had 2 off days-sat and sun.Kazu had a good time at Jurong Bird Park.Thank God again that we don't have to pay admission fees except Kazu who is hearing. We can pay child admission fee-$12.90 only :) I use my handphone to take photo because Kenichi was too tired/lazy to bring his SLR camera.Reaching there,he realised that there are many nice places/birds to take photo so he will bring us there again this month so that he can bring his camera and take many photos later.
last June for father day
We had pizza and bee hoon at my parents's house for father's celebration.I am grateful to my father who always helped us alot whenever we need his help.We appreciate his love for us despite being too strict with us :) He's great father and grandpa!
By the way,my brother in law,Patrick "complained" that all the fathers never receive nice handmade gifts by their children and not fair to them but mothers always receive nice handmade crafts by their kids.Well,Father's day falls on wrong date/month which starts on school holiday concidentally. That's why all the children did not have any chance to make father's day cards for their fathers when their teachers usually ask them to.
helped Kazu to make small gift for his daddy to cut colour papers only while he pasted them and then drew it himself.
Wow,I did not know my elder niece,Jiselle quickly grabbed her favourite strawberry and ate it once cut the cake.ha...
Finally,my brother became a father already for 4 months now-Welcome to father's club. His baby son was sleeping at wrong time :)
